Return To Legend: Part 2
After a record sell-out event – and due to popular demand for a follow up – we are happy to announce part two of a Return To Legend with Greg Wilson and Colin Curtis in The Refuge Basement.
Expect a non-stop, back-to-back selection of vibes from Greg Wilson’s renowned residency at Manchester’s ‘other’ club during the early 1980s where Soul, Funk Disco, Jazz-Funk, Jazz Fusion and Electro-Funk – the latter of which Greg became most associated with – were the staple sounds every Wednesday night and saw people travel from all over the North, North Midlands and even up from London to experience this midweek gathering of like-minded souls.
Joining Greg once again will be special guest Colin Curtis, the man dubbed as ‘The UK’s David Mancuso’. Colin can rightfully claim to have been at the forefront of the specialist Northern Soul and Jazz-Funk scenes of the 70s, as well as being a pioneer in introducing the sound of mid-80s Chicago music to the dance floors of Britain. Plus he’s recently celebrated 50 years of DJing as well as the release of his ‘Jazz Dance Fusion’ compilation on Z Records.
