🌈 Ten years of Come As You Are: celebrate Pride at Refuge

Ten years of music, community and coming exactly as you are. This August Bank Holiday, we’re celebrating a decade of CAYA at Refuge, and you’re invited.

Join us on Saturday 29 August for a FREE Pride party across our bar and terrace, celebrating Manchester’s LGBTQIA+ community and allies with a day of DJs, disco and drag. Then come back on Sunday for a roast, our resident DJs and a chance to do it all at a slightly gentler pace.

Come As You Are Pride Weekender – Sat 29 August

Our legendary Come As You Are celebration returns with a weekend of house, disco, and unfiltered joy. Across the Refuge Public Bar and The Refuge Terrace, expect big sets, bold performances, and nothing but good vibes.

Joe Goddard headlines CAYA

Hot Chip’s Joe Goddard leads this year’s celebrations. A founding member of the electronic band and an acclaimed producer in his own right, Joe has played everywhere from Glastonbury and Coachella to Berlin’s Panorama Bar. This Bank Holiday Saturday, he’s joining us at Refuge for a headline DJ set to mark ten years of CAYA.

Supernature Disco takes to the terrace

Outside, Supernature Disco will be bringing their infectious energy and inclusive party spirit to the terrace. With disco on the menu and room to dance, it’s the perfect excuse to get your favourite people together for an afternoon that rolls into the evening.

In the bar, our DJs will keep things moving through house, disco and soulful grooves, with music from midday until midnight.

Make way for House of Gorgeous

From 3pm, House of Gorgeous will be bringing performances to the bar every hour, with a line-up including Anna Phylactic and Liquorice Black.

Expect theatricality, sharp humour and plenty of personality from some of the North West’s most inventive drag performers. There’s a reason we keep coming back for more.

Sunday roasts and resident sounds

After the dancefloor comes the gravy.

Join us on Sunday 30 August for a proper Refuge roast with all the trimmings, while resident DJs Shaun Redlake and Rev Austin provide the loveliest soundtrack to your afternoon.

Get your favourite people around the table, settle in and let us take care of the cooking. That’s your Bank Holiday Sunday sorted.
