HORSE MEAT DISCO AT THE REFUGE
Horse Meat Disco return to Manchester to host a soirée within the intimate dwellings of The Refuge Basement!
James Hillard, Jim Stanton, Luke Howard and Severino (aka Horse Meat Disco) are heading down to our Basement for a huge party ahead of their brand-new album, set to be released later this year. Inspired by the halcyon days of New York nightlife, these resident DJs have gone on to become one of the most iconic disco collectives, hosting legendary parties across the UK, Europe and New York. Their inclusive “queer party for everyone; homos and heteros, club kids, bears, fashionistas, naturists, guerrilla drag queens and ladies who munch” is perfectly matched to our ‘come as you are’ ethos.
They’ll be joined by local party-starters and eclectic selectors from the Manchester Bad Fun DJ squad, playing the best underground groove based dance music. Expect a non-stop back to back party from 10pm with beautiful people, quirky characters and like-minded souls of the disco ‘dishevelledness’ at this subterranean social!
Not only that, but Ali and Micky from Warm will be kicking things off early, hosting the public bar from 2pm. They will be delving into their ever-growing record collections, ranging from folk, soul, afro Balearica and AOR, disco, house and everything in between, as part of their first ever compilation release!
