Easter Afternoon Tea at Refuge
A Chocolate-Laced Spring Indulgence in the Winter Garden
Available 2nd, 3rd & 4th April | 12:00pm – 3:30pm
There are afternoon teas… and then there are Refuge afternoon teas. This Easter, we’re taking things up a notch with a limited-edition experience that leans fully into the decadent long weekend. think delicate savouries, nostalgic bakes and just the right amount of chocolate indulgence, all served in the stunning Winter Garden. And for the Easter Weekend we are even extending the service through to Thursday!
Step inside and you’re instantly transported. Beneath the soaring glass ceiling, surrounded by lush greenery and soft natural light, the Winter Garden sets the tone for a slow, celebratory afternoon. Whether you’re catching up with friends, marking the long weekend, or simply carving out a moment to treat yourself, this is Easter done properly.
Our specially curated menu brings together refined classics and playful seasonal twists.
We start savoury, because balance matters, with a selection designed to ease you in gently. A white crab crumpet layered with apple and dill offers something fresh and light, while a rich ham hock sausage roll with piccalilli delivers that comforting, golden bite you didn’t know you needed. And of course, no afternoon tea is complete without the classic egg mayonnaise and cress sandwich, done just right.
Then, things take a sweeter turn. Easter wouldn’t be Easter without chocolate, and here it’s front and centre. Expect a beautifully layered Gateau Opera, a silky Baileys chocolate pot that leans into pure indulgence, and a Yorkshire rhubarb & custard cheesecake from Thomlinson’s that brings a sharp, nostalgic contrast to the richness.
Warm, toasted hot cross buns served with sour cherry jam and thick clotted cream follow, alongside a perfectly baked Old King Cole cheddar scone paired with wild garlic butter for a savoury finish that holds its own.
And because this is Refuge, we’re not stopping at tea.
Each experience is served with a Chocolate Forest Martini — a decadent, velvety cocktail that ties the whole thing together with a playful, grown-up twist.
All of this is yours for £49 per person.
This isn’t just afternoon tea; it’s a seasonal moment. One that leans into indulgence without overcomplicating things, and gives you a reason to slow down, sit back, and actually enjoy it.
Spots across the Easter weekend are limited, and they won’t hang around.
Come for the tradition, stay for the chocolate, and let Refuge make your Easter feel a little more special.
