Come As You Are weekender: 24-25 August 2024
Our annual all singing, all dancing Come As You Are weekender returns this August bank holiday weekend – and we can finally announce who we have lined up to play! The celebration of music, love and inclusivity takes place on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 August.
This year’s CAYA will be a collaboration and celebration of our local legends. We’re keeping it Manchester by celebrating the homegrown LGBTQIA+ talent and allies that this city knows and loves. We have thriving 3 iconic club nights that were forged in Manchester which are now nationally and internationally celebrated. They will be coming together to create a weekend of amazing tunes with lots of their DJ friends to create a ‘Refuge’ of love and togetherness where everyone is welcome – come as you are.
- Flash Ibiza
- Guy Williams is a true original of the scene and now in his 30th year of professional DJ’ing. Starting out in1993 in his hometown of Manchester, gaining spots at “Flesh” at the Hacienda, “Vague” in Leeds and “Trash” in Sheffield. He then became resident at Manchester’s Holy City Zoo in 1995 before a move to London in 1997 to become promotions manager at Jive records followed by Defected Records. Internationally he has played around the globe, Ibiza, (resident at WE Love- Space, Ministry Of Sound, Trade & guest spots at Manumission/Pacha and more) and now runs his own party ‘Flash’ at the infamous Pikes Ibiza.
- Sticky Heat
- Sticky Heat are `Mancunian purveyors of fine electronic music, lead by Marco Giannini, Chris Massey and Muddy Feet. Their ethos is to not be pigeonholed as a house night, disco night or a techno night, they keep an open policy focussing on the very best in electronic music that makes the dance floor move.
- Supernature Disco
- Supernature Disco have been running regular events in Manchester since 2015. Dedicated to the party, inclusivity and community, the four members of the collective, BB, Richie V, James Greenwood and Rob Jones share their love of disco and house with an energetic and diverse crowd of all sexualities, genders and ages.
And if that’s not enough, we’ll be hosting a Disco Flow Yoga session on The Refuge terrace with Thorlby Yoga on Saturday at 10am. Bring a mat and ease yourself into the bank holiday debauchery with a little yoga (but make it DISCO!). Secure your ticket here.
Just a reminder that Come As You Are is not ticketed and runs on a first-come-first-serve basis – so come down early and spend the whole day and night with us! Fancy eating in the Dining Room? We recommend you get your table booked now.
And if you fancy staying over, take a look at the Stay With Pride offer currently running here at Kimpton Clocktower Hotel. This weekend package includes a Come as You Are survival kit tote bag with a hangover kit, two cocktails, water bottles and £30 to spend in the Refuge each night.
We can’t wait to welcome you back to Come As You Are, with its unique togetherness that only Manchester can magic from its people!
