Come As You Are Street Party
On 27 and 28 August 2016, we invited Manchester to our free street party in Waterhouse Way. “Manchester Pride is one big party and we wanted to open up our amazing street with the same feeling of inclusive not exclusive; come as you are,” said Luke Cowdrey. Over 3,000 people from all walks of life came to celebrate with us – the party vibes continued long into the night, with a downpour or two doing nothing to dampen spirits.
The DJ line-up included Ruf Dug, The Unabombers and Krysko, among many more, as well as performance collective Cha Cha Boudoir being on hand to provide interactive entertainment. A taste of The Refuge was on offer as a series of flat breads topped with beetroot, smoked feta and hazelnut; lamb shawarma, and black daal.were served.
