Come As You Are weekender: 28-30 August 2020
We’re super proud to announce a re-worked version of our much-loved Come As You Are weekend—staying within the government guidelines—meaning you can celebrate safely this August Bank Holiday.
Our annual feast of love, music and food will commence on Friday 28 August and run until Sunday 30 August and it’ll operate in a socially distanced fashion, as well as running at a smaller scale. The team have put as much love and effort in as usual to allow the spirit of togetherness to remain in place, while complying with COVID-19 safety measures.
Our very own GM, Mark Clinton, gave us a quick run-down: “We felt it was important not to cancel Come As You Are and wanted to provide a smaller version of this well-celebrated party with soundtracks and drinks in the sunshine. We’re going to do our best to make it an enjoyable experience for all: basically everyone’s welcome and encouraged to come as they are!”.
Of course, there’ll be delicious food, cocktails, beers and a whole lot more—all served at your table. And in addition to this, our Tenner Well Spent menu is available in the courtyard and the Pubic Bar on Sunday, featuring a mouth-watering beef or pork sandwich, alongside our famous Sunday roast (the latter is still available in the Dining Room and booking is recommended).
The weekend’s soundtrack will be hand-picked by some of the very finest DJs, producers and club nights runners in our city: with Homoelectric kicking things off from 5pm on Friday with Luke Unabomber, Gina Breeze and Will Tramp.
Saturday will see Manchester’s Supernature Disco, High Hoops, Kiss Me Again, DJs Mix-Stress and Muddy Feet on duty.
Then we’re finishing strong on Sunday with DJ Paulette, Abigail Ward, Massey, Ladybeige (The Social Service), and Kim Lana.
And of course, you can expect the usual unique and original occurrences from Come As You Are to be part of the celebration.
Just a reminder that Come As You Are is not ticketed and runs on a first-come-first-serve basis. Guests are strongly recommended to come down early to avoid disappointment and to book for meals in the Dining Room. Face covering is mandatory when entering The Refuge until you find a seat.
